Merry Christmas! From TCC

I wish you all a wonderful Christmas this year and a very Happy New Year! I will post my New Year Resolutions in a few days. If you go out tomorrow, I would ask that you wish people a "Merry Christmas" not a Happy Holidays...It seems that everyone is trying to take Christ out of Christmas. In the TV shows/commercials we watch, on signs/billboards we see, the media we hear, etc. I don't want to go on a huge rant about this, just wanted to point it out. This world needs Jesus, this has been my prayer for the last week. So anyway, here are today's verses:

Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV)

"6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this."

P.S. I will be starting up the weekly verses once again in January, and hopefully by then also doing a post every two weeks at the least.

Verse of the Week

So I know that posting a whole Psalm is not a technical "verse," but I feel the need to post the whole Psalm 91. It is sixteen verses, however, it is totally worth the seven to ten minutes it's going to take to read it! This would be a great passage to memorize!

~Psalm 91 (NIV)

"1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the

Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.' 3 Surely he will save you from the

fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings

you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night,

nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys

at midday. 7thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near

you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you say, 'The Lord is

my refuge,' and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come

near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12

they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on

the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 'Because he loves me,' says the

Lord, 'I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will

answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will

satisfy him and show him my salvation.'

Verse of the Week

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
~Matthew 6:34 (NIV)

When it's a late night and you still have that assignment weighing down on your shoulders, don't worry! GOD has each day in his hands!

Verse of the Day:

"But in your hearts revere Christ as LORD. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander."

~ 1 Peter 3:15-16 (NIV)

Verse of the Day:

"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
